Forensic Inspections
Forensic inspection is defined as the examination of an item, items, systems or a location and, on the basis of professional judgment, scientific methods and technology in investigating and in the determination of conformity with proposed events or known conditions of what caused an issue or event.
At Granite Inspection Group, we provide this service to our clients, home owners, Home Owner Associations (HOA), property management groups, developers, insurance companies, banks, law firms, appraisers, and relocation companies.
The typical process includes a visual inspection, evaluation and assessment of the onsite issues or concerns. Collection of evidence, documentation, visualization, physical samples and/or pictures. All acquired and adhered to a strict chain of custody where applicable.
Examples of forensic inspections include but are not limited to:
- Expert Witness Testimony
- New Construction
- Home Maintenance/Repair
- Insurance Claims

Expert Witness Testimony
Prior to litigation, your attorney may advise you to retain our services as an expert witness to testify on your behalf. At Granite Inspection Group we are qualified to evaluate evidence, provide objective data and expert testimony on your behalf to substantiate your claim.
New Construction
Inspections of newly constructed homes. These inspections are used to determine if there are deficiencies that may need to be resolved by the builder prior to occupancy or ownership.
Home Maintenance/Repair
This is a common Inspection performed for existing home owners. This is an inspection from a qualified professional third party, with no vested interest as to the project at hand. It is to evaluate and assess the existing condition(s) and/or state of the issue in question.
Insurance Claims
Inspections to evaluate and/or assess the damage(s) to a home prior to the insurance company issuing a check to cover the expenses. Our Forensic services report will state the probable cause of the damage and if it can be identified, the severity of the damage and any recommendations for resolution.
Why do I need a forensic inspection?
If at any time you feel unsure of an estimate provided to you for the cost of repair and/or replacement items in your home, you may want another opinion. Since our firm does not have any interest of the work being done.
What is the value to me?
We provide professional, thorough and honest assessments that can and have been beneficial to your peace of mind and your financial investment and stability. Home maintenance can be costly especially for those who don’t know what to look for.
